The material used for packaging of milk is produced in large rolls. The substance used to fix the ink in the external labels, through the rolling would contaminate the inside of the package to contain the liquid.

Regulation 172/02 requires that in determining whether food is injurious to health must be taken into account: a) not only the probable immediate and / or short-term and / or long-term food on the health of the person who consumed, but also on subsequent generations, b) the probable cumulative toxic effects of food, c) the particular sensitivity, in terms of health, a specific category of consumers where the food is intended for that . If the information is insufficient to determine the effects referred to in subparagraphs b) and c) the most weight in the decision depends on the category specific consumer to which it is the food. 5. The tetra states its awareness only recently, as analytical techniques to detect the presence of ITX were made available recently. The analytical procedure used by ARPA, however, dates back to 1990 and has been validated by the Institute of Health for the determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.
6. The EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) declares early toxicity either acute or long-term, with final opinion, as early as 12.12.2005. The experiment was conducted on laboratory mice, which were subjected to autopsy at 24 hours after administration of ITX. Guinea pigs have not shown abnormalities. The EFSA itself, however, said that the short period of time between the administration and examination of tissues of guinea pigs may not have allowed the emergence of any effects. EFSA is expressed in a similar way on another substance used in printing, ethylhexyldimetithylaminobenzoato (EHDAB), which was found in liquid products packed in cartons, like milk, ma a livelli più bassi.

9. Esiste una ricerca cinese che dimostra che l'ITX è GENOTOSSICO e MUTAGENO. Tale ricerca è stata menzionata durante il Consiglio Nazionale della Lega Nord del 22.12.2005, in un comunicato stampa, alla presenza dell’esperto Alessandro Davoli.
10. Il prof. Enrico Malizia, tossicologo di fama mondiale, già Direttore del Centro Antiveleni presso l’Università LA SAPIENZA di Roma, sostiene che l’ITX può essere nocivo per l’apparato gastroenterico e per il fegato; ha peraltro dichiarato, durante la trasmissione televisiva “MI MANDA RAI TRE” (novembre 2005), che l’effetto immediato alle concentrazioni ritrovate potrebbe essere l’insorgenza dei fenomeni allergici soprattutto nei bambini.
11. Un altro studioso sostiene ( http://www.ilquotidiano.it/articoli/index.cfm?ida=47991 ) che l’ITX appartiene alla classe dei THIOXANTENI derivati, da sempre noti come neurolettici, e fa parte di medicinali broncodilatatori vasodilatatori delle coronarie e, a livello sperimentale, per la terapia genica. 16. Farmaci derivati del THIOXANTHONE, come il CLOPENTIXOLO e il ZUCLOPENTIXOLO, hanno effetti collaterali noti e sono vietati sia in gravidanza, durante l'allattamento e per i bambini.

18. Chi ha effettuato i test per l’autorizzazione all’ammissione in commercio del tetrapak, non si è posto il problema che una cosa è contenere l’acqua e altro è contenere latte, sughi, vini, succhi di frutta, derivati del latte ecc...?
